BLT Burger started appearing on friend’s Facebook updates over the last few months, so I decided to check it out for myself.

Doing a tiny bit of research, I found out that BLT doesn’t stand for bacon, lettuce, and tomato, as in the sandwich. Instead, the name is derived from the originator, chef Laurent Tourendei. The acronym stands for Bistro Laurent Tourendei.

Film fans have a new reason to cross the harbor. Less than two weeks ago, the UA cinema chain opened an IMAX theater in the brand new iSquare shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Previously, those seeking the thrills of the massive IMAX screen had to trek all the way out to Megabox in Kowloon Bay. The new cinema is far more conveniently located, with two exits that spill directly into iSquare from the main Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station.

To me, Alive Not Dead are known for two things – operating a celebrity-filled social network and WILD parties. Throughout their existence, they’ve probably generated more hangovers than any other online brand. Even with all the high-profile actors, singers and models, their parties are never pretentious affairs but fun, jump up and down kind of nights.

What do top clubs, Dragon-i and Volar have in common? As both celebrated birthdays earlier this month, Hong Kong Hustle began to think back about their contributions to the city’s nightlife scene.

Dragon-i held their seventh anniversary last weekend, hosting major dance music talents, Axwell and Ron Carroll. Volar celebrated on December third, bringing well known group Digitalism.

Through their musical direction and dedication over the years, the two clubs have transformed Hong Kong from a c-list city into a primary destination on the international nightclub circuit. (more…)

Six years and many tattoos later, L.M.F. are back! Since the group disbanded in 2003, there hasn’t been another band to shake up the Cantopop machine in quite the same way.

LMF, with their street slang and uncut language, offered a sharp rebuke to the squeaky-clean, manufactured idol scene where singers are chosen more for their looks rather than their musical ability. With their debut in 1998, LMF by contrast, were raw, unpolished and an immediate sensation. (more…)
