It’s a pretty big deal to be able to hear a pioneer of dance music on a regular old Tuesday night! The newly launched ‘Fillet Of Soul‘ series at Dragon-i, created especially for music lovers, brings top talent to the club for an intimate Tuesday night session.

Fillet of Soul features producers and d.j.s from around the world, each specializing in soulful dance music. Over the first few months, guests have included heavyweights such as New York’s DJ Spinna, South Africa’s Black Coffee and Bucie, and Franck Roger from Paris. It was only a matter of time before competition for Hong Kong’s best pizza started to heat up. As we witnessed earlier with burger joints, frozen yoghurt places and bubble tea stands, the window of opportunity to be the only one of your kind is very brief in this city.

Why was Lan Kwai Fong empty this weekend? Hong Kong’s party scene relocated to Macau on Friday and Saturday nights for the grand opening of club Cubic! The highly anticipated two-day event featured performances by big-name Hip Hop acts Flo Rida and Lil’ Jon, who are responsible for over a dozen recent dance floor hits.

Friday night’s crowd, which numbered several thousand people, packed the massive new space and gave the opening a thick air of excitement. (more…)
