This website is very helpful and I appreciate the comments and the advice given. I am not sure if you have heard of ‘cubic bread/ toast’ or ‘pillow bread’ (translated to jum tal bao)…apparently it’s a big bread where you can put different types of dips in there. Do you know where you can have this in Hong Kong? You see it featured in many TVB dramas, and I’m hoping to get the chance to try some when i go to Hong Kong with my girlfriend at the end of this year. Thanks, Sam.

You’re in luck – Hui Lau Shan is still around. In fact, they have many branches around the city, particularly in high foot traffic neighborhoods such as Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok. Enjoy!

I was browsing through your blog and came across this dessert bar “Hui Lau Shan”. I must say it was one of the best places to go and cool off with one of their delightful fruit deserts. My wife and I was there in 2007 and we miss this so much! Coming back soon in October. I hope they are still there when we return in TST. Your blog is a fantastic read! Thanks

I googled photos of Hong Kong and found your website.

I find your blog to be very interesting and informative. Being born in Hong Kong but left to go to the UK to study at the age of 12 and have been residing in Australia in the last 12 years, I have not seen a lot of the places in Hong Kong.

I did not know desserts existed like these in Hong Kong… they look so yummy!

Thank you so much for all the interesting stuff that you wrote and the amazing photos that you took – it made me feel like I was in Hong Kong. The Christmas lights in Hong Kong are so beautiful!

I love the dessert places in HK! The last time I was vacationing HK, I was a regular at Yee Shun Dairy Company. I can speak Cantonese but can’t read it, so I always ask for an English menu.
