Rooftop Reggae Jam… in Central!

Imagine my surprise, walking around the capital of Sichuan province seven years ago when I stumbled upon an authentic Reggae bar with great music. I remember thinking – I wish Hong Kong had a place like this!

Unfortunately, the city’s high rents have often kept less mainstream music genres from finding a permanent home. To combat this gap, promoters and dj crews have sprung up to organize special nights and parties. Recently, Hong Kong’s Reggae scene seems to be experiencing an upswing.

Reggae events around town have been improving both in quality and quantity. Excellent Reggae shows at Backstage have brought legends such as Clive Chin and President Carter; and recent Dancehall nights at XXX, have drawn a fun, diverse crowd.

On Saturday August 13th, party promoters Heavy and True Skool are joining forces to put on a major rooftop Reggae party at Pier No. 7 in Central. The night features a line-up of d.j.s including headliner Man Logik from Lion Scratch Sound System in France, as well as numerous talented Hong Kong-based djs.

The promoter’s commitment to top quality music, as well as the harbor-front setting make Roof Top Vibrations a smart choice for Saturday night.
