Closed for over a month for renovation, Volar is reopening this Thursday with a brand new look. What can club-goers expect?
Recently celebrating their 8th anniversary, Volar has had minor renovations over the years, but this represents the first major redesign. Everything has been given a refresh.
Originally sparse in places, the new design is much more detailed. Due to constraints of the building supports, the club is still divided into two rooms, but they have been altered in new ways.
The lounge side, aka the Hip Hop room, has been opened up, with the DJ booth now in the center. (Yes, they finally got rid of those Merry-Go-Round horses, which always provided too sweet a temptation for drunks!)
The seating has been widened in places, making room for bigger booths. The mens bathroom has also been altered, positioned in a new location that allows visitors to look out into the club… kinky!
The club side aka the main room, has also been redesigned.
The DJ booth has been shifted outwards onto the stage, to provide for additional elevated seating.
A new intelligent lighting system will be debuting this week, with lights that can move in time to the music. Thursday night’s attendees will have the first glimpse of the setup in action.
Another new feature is the addition of a pool table in the back of the main room, which should make Volar an option for weekdays, in addition to weekends.
The space between the two rooms has a large number of new mirrors that will leave the inebriated feeling even more disoriented than usual! Additional features will be rolled out in the following weeks. Stay tuned!
