Japanese band Cro-Magnon will hit the Woobar at W Hotel on Friday, September 18th, showcasing a talented trio of musicians who trained at the illustrious Berklee College of music. The band is centered around Soul music, but plays everything in their live sets from Disco and Jazz, to Electronic Funk and House.
Formed in 2004, they’ve recorded with notable musicians such as Roy Ayers, and are part of Tokyo’s Jazzy Sport label. Getting their start playing Hip Hop inspired instrumentals, they’ve branched out into multiple genres and collaborated with a number of highly regarded artists.
In addition to Cro-Magnon members Shigekazu Otake (drums), Tsuyoshi Kosuga (guitar and bass,) and Takumi Kaneko (keyboards) the party will also feature DJ sets by Masaya Fantasista and Mikey Varot from Jazzy Sport Japan, along with Taku Hirayama from the H.K. based crew.
