Dorophy Tang Adidas China

I briefly stopped by the Adidas Originals store in Causeway Bay on Friday night. The two-story shop was jazzed up with an exhibition by Hong Kong artist Dorophy Tang. Elements of this same exhibition recently debuted in the Adidas flagship store in Beijing. The show, “Kicks Discovery II” is comprised of Dorophy’s series of seventy hand-painted baby figures and several large Adidas-themed paintings. (more…)

Radio Dada Hong Kong

I ran into my friend M.C. Yan on Thursday night and he was excited to tell me about a new project he’s been working on called Radio Dada. Yan is one of the pioneers of Hip Hop in Hong Kong. He’s helped popularize the concepts behind the culture and is well known as a graffiti artist and rapper. Yan was also a member of the now defunct group, L.M.F.

Friday night I bumped into him again, and since we were right next door, he gave me a tour of the new station he’s just launched. (more…)

Dragon i anniversary HK
What’s inside the disco ball?

Can it possibly be that time of year again? This Saturday is the sixth anniversary of Dragon-i! The club has evolved over the years to become Hong Kong’s quintessential nightspot. The six-year old venue hosts the biggest name international d.j.s and is a landmark destination for visiting celebrities.

Dragon-i anniversaries tend to be major affairs. Past headliners have included Little Louie Vega and Boy George. This year’s event is no exception. (more…)

Christian Louboutin store H

Choosing a single photo to go at the top of this post was very difficult. Aside from being beautifully crafted, Christian Louboutin’s shoes are extremely photogenic!

What’s all the fuss about? The exhibition at the Cat Street Gallery paired David Lynch, a master filmmaker known for his distinct vision, with Christian Louboutin, one of the top footwear designers in the world. Rarely have I seen a collaboration between two creative individuals that has turned out so well. (more…)

Dre Skull Pimpin Aint Easy
